T'Cats Sizzle in Vegas Opener; Drop Second Game

Under the hot Las Vegas sun today, the 12U Rocklin ThunderCats erupted for a 17-0 victory over the Verde Valle (Arizona) Blaze in their opening game of the ASA "B" Western National Championships. The T'Cats pitchers (five shutout innings) were backed by solid defense throughout, and the team's 18 hits paved the way for the scoring outburst--to the delight of the T'Cats fans.

In their second game, the T'Cats were cooled off by a tough Santee (San Diego) ASA team, losing 11-2. The T'Cats got down early and fought back, but could not overcome the deficit.

The T'Cats square off tomorrow (Wednesday) at 12:00 p.m. against Tulare Thrill in their first game of the double-elimination championship bracket.

GO THUNDERCATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The T'Cats high-five their first-game opponent.

Winona Vigil gets the T'Cats scoring started with a second-inning double against Verde Valle.

Delanie Chrisman scores one of the T'Cats 17 runs against Verde Valle.

Pitchers Maddie Wuelfing (above) and Mallory Asaro kept the door shut against Verde Valle.

T'Cats fans and players enjoy a break in between Tuesday's games.

Hello ThunderCats, it's Nick. What can I say, next to me, you're the best. You better win tomorrow. In addition to the twenty bucks I have on you, I want to be able to celebrate Nick Papagiorgio-style tomorrow night.

And this is Jake. It was awesome watching the game next to my best friends Sophie and Joey. Man, you girls are pretty good! Go get 'em tomorrow!

Love,

Nick P. and Doc
