T'Cats Stay Alive; Meet Paso Robles Tonight

The 12U Rocklin ThunderCats defeated Rohnert Park Rebels 8-5 in their second game of the day to stay alive in championship play. The T'Cats lost their first game to a strong Bonita Valley team, but bounced back against the Rebels with a resilient team effort. Mallory Asaro came in to shut the door in the final inning, after Maddie Wuelfing kept the Rebels in check for five strong innings. The T'Cats jumped on the Rebels early, then broke the game open with Courtney Moreno's three-run "home run." The defense was led by centerfielder Monica Martinez, catcher Sam Moffat, and outstanding play by others.

The ThunderCats, now 3-2 in the tourney, play again tonight at 8 p.m. against Paso Robles High Rollers in single-eliminate play.
